Future Jamboree

15-17.10.2016

Future Jamboree was a (non-)conference of urban activists and innovators from all over the world. Ninety leading urban activists from all continents came to Wrocław for two days to exchange their knowledge and experience about developing the city, and to inspire each other. Their interaction served as a foundation for coming up with an idea of a better city – inclusive, just and caring about its inhabitants’ quality of life.

The session was based on the “open space” method, i.e. beginning the work from a clean sheet of paper. There were no pre-planned topics for the participants to address – they were free to discuss any subjects they wanted. The meeting of such a varied group of “designers of tomorrow”, who represented different traditions and cultures, was an extraordinary event. In spite of all their differences, the conversation was possible thanks to their common point of reference – the city and its problems.
