AReal is an application that took the third place in the FutuWro competition. The application is based on augmented reality technologies and takes the inhabitants on a walk that enables them to rediscover buildings playing an important role in the history and atmosphere of the city. It also shows artistic works in the ARteria virtual gallery.
By using technologies known from Pokemon Go, the application makes it possible to enter into interaction with the space of Wrocław. Almost any element in the cityscape can become a marker that triggers the application. The software presents an unknown Wrocław, for example by revealing what is hidden in the history of the Manhattan tower blocks, what the heart of the C13 building sounds like or which colours of the Tempo neon bar used to illuminate Piłsudskiego Street. AReal is an open, continuous and democratic project. Among those invited to get involved in it have been musicians connected with Wrocław and users of the app, who can jointly compose pieces rendered in real time. AReal combines culture and augmented reality in a way that encourages the users to become integrated and creative through it.
